Shoulder and Elbow Radiology

Projections
- In the projection lateromedial (LM) is placed on the horse in the aforementioned position and the beam is directed toward the shoulder. This view we use to assess the humeral head, OCD lesions that may present a flattening of the medial aspect of it.

 

     

- Craneomedial caudolateral oblique projection (CrMCLO) is performed like the lateromedial but directing the beam 20 ° to the horizontal. This projection allows us to observe the two tuberosities of the proximal humerus skull face.

Demineralization of the greater tuberosity.
Osteitis in the bicipital groove.
Osteochondrosis of the shoulder joint.
Subchondral bone cysts in the glenoid or humeral head.
Subchondral sclerosis of the humeral head.
Osteophytes of the cranial and caudal face of the glenoid.
Degenerative joint disease.
Calcification of the bag biceps.
Brachial biceps tendon ossification.
Tuberosity fractures of the glenoid.
Fractures of the body or neck of the scapula.
